Lithuania provides a financial incentive of €3,444 EURO to highly-skilled specialists to help with relocation costs.

Financial incentive applies to both foreign nationals and Lithuanian expats.

All eligible employees can apply for the relocation incentive no sooner than 6 months but not later than 2 years after starting employment in Lithuania.

Relocation to Lithuania and application for the financial incentive must take place between January 1st, 2022 and May 31st 2025.

Employee eligibility for Lithuania financial incentive to relocate

  1. Hasn’t been a permanent resident in Lithuania for the last 5 years.
  2. Has a non-fixed term (open ended) employment contract with a company based in Lithuania.
  3. Works in a profession that is on the Lithuanian high-value adding professions shortage list.
  4. Receives a gross monthly salary of € 3,440

N/B: If an employee received a national visa before June 30th 2022 it does not apply.

How to apply for Lithuania financial incentive to relocate

Submit application to e-government gateway via this link along with the following documents:

  • Application form.
  • Copy of the employment contract.
  • Certificate from the employer confirming the employee’s average salary in 6 months.
  • Certificate from the employer confirming the average salary at the company in the last year.
How long does it take to issue a work permit in Lithuania?
While it’s always recommended to plan ahead when it comes to obtaining work visas, the process is relatively quick in Lithuania.
The issuance of a work permit generally takes place within seven business days, and the processing time for a national D visa is approximately 15 working days.
