4. White Water Rafting in Kenya: Ewaso N’giro River

Ewaso N’giro is one of the most scenic white water river rafting places in Kenya. If you’re lucky, you get to spot elephants, crocodiles, and even lions from your boat.

Beginning from the take out point near Kipsing, you get to raft eastwards, through Samburu National Park, to even as far off as Chandler Falls in Shaba National Park.

Total distance covered on the river could go up to about 180 km depending on how much time you have and the prevailing water level and conditions.

Best period for rafting:

High water season is May and December.

Level of difficulty:

Up to 30 kms of nonstop Class II, III and IV rapids in some places, and separate stretches of demanding Class V water.
