The EvaMtalii YouTube channel got monetized!!!
I always believed and knew this day would come, just not this soon.

I will be forever indebted to you.
I started the channel towards the end of 2018 but started actively posting in 2019. On Feb 1, 2020 I hit the 1,000 subscriber count and 4,000 hours watch time on my video uploads. This is the minimum requirement to get monetized. As in for Google to pay you for adverts that feature on your videos. However, you have to wait for approval even though you’ve hit the minimums.
Well, I’d read that it can take up to 30 days until you get the approval from Google. So I didn’t care to check until today only to learn that kumbe I’d been approved on Feb 6th, 2020. Just 4 days later. So I practically lost 20 days of potential revenue waiting for the 30 days.
Lessons learned
- Patience pays. And this doesn’t apply only to YouTube but in all spheres of life.
- Everybody’s journey is different. It took me only 4 days between hitting the minimum numbers and getting approved for monetization. Yours could take longer or shorter.
- Done is better than perfect. I know so many of you reading this who are still waiting to perfect being on camera before posting their first video. I have news for you you can start today. Make today day one or one day.
